Missionary Clara Clerkley is the very loving and much beloved First Lady of the Lighthouse Church of God in Christ In Dallas, Texas. Lady Clerkley teaches women the principles of living wise, prudent lives that are pleasing to God. She encourages women to incorporate Godly principles into marriage, motherhood, and friendships, while holding up the standard of holiness.
Missionary Clerkley is of COGIC lineage and trained in kingdom building by her late grandparents Superintendent E. V. Valentine & Missionary Clara Valentine. Her early church work includes Executive Secretary, Usher Board, Sunday School Director, Pastor’s Aid Coordinator and many other areas at the Faith Kingdom COGIC under Superintendent Charles Craig and Supervisor Janice Craig.
She received her Evangelist Missionary license in 1990 in the Texas Northeast First Jurisdiction under Bishop J. Neaul Haynes and Mother Odessa Newman. Beginning in 1994, she served for 6 years as District Missionary of the Greenville North District under Superintendent John Ellis. Later she served under Mother Freddie Carter as State Purity Class President and under Evangelist Joyce Rodgers as Vacation Bible School Coordinator.
Missionary Clerkley served 4 years as the Finance Chairperson/Budget Coordinator for the Department of Women in the Texas Northeast Fourth Jurisdiction under Bishop Nathiel D. Wells, and Mother Erma Parker, Supervisor of Women.
Missionary Clara Clerkley currently serves as the Supervisor, Designee for the Texas Northeast Fifth Jurisdiction Department of Women under the leadership of Bishop Thomas L. Walker.
This extraordinary woman has yielded a ministry that complements that of her husband, Superintendent Michael Clerkley. Their 49-year strong marriage has yielded 5 children, 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Lady Clerkley is a Proverbs 31 woman and her husband and children do indeed call her blessed, a genuinely saved God-fearing Missionary Clara Clerkley.
